Meet Your Teachers

7.1 Mrs Achaempong

Hi! I'm Mrs Acheampong, Teacher of Art. I've always loved being creative and express this through teaching and interior decoration. Outside of school I adore spending time together with my family visiting local attractions. I am also a huge pizza lover! 

7.2 Ms Barras

I am Ms Barras, I am an English teacher but you will see me all over the building!  If you see me say Hi! 

What are you reading at the moment?  I love all types of books, films and music.

7.2 Miss Hardwick

I am Miss Hardwick and I teach English here at NDA.

I studied English Literature at university; I absolutely fell in love with reading and writing.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, reading and going to the cinema!

7.4 Dr Varanasi

I am Dr. Varanasi. I am Teacher of Science and an Associate Assistant Headteacher.  I studied Science, Maths, English, Computing and Languages at school.  I then also studied for a Masters and Ph.D. (involving Genes, Cancer, Stem Cells and Drug Discovery) and always wanted to become a Lecturer/Teacher. 

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, archery or travelling.

7.7 Miss Dixon

I am Miss Dixon, and I am a Maths Teacher. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I was at secondary school, and went to university in York to study before completing my PGCE at Sunderland. 

When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending my time building Lego, walking my dog Gino, and attending a local music and dance group! 

7.8 Miss Robertson

I am Miss Robertson and I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics. 

Before I became a teacher, I worked in the Ambulance Service for 8 years based out of Newcastle and Hexham.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy music and quizzes.

7.9 Mrs Taylor

I am Mrs Taylor, I work in the Harbour at North Durham Academy.

I studied Psychology and Inclusion at University and now love working at school.

When I'm not working I enjoy walking my dog and spending time with family.
