Young Storyteller: Inspiring tomorrow's authors to publish today
What’s more motivating than students seeing their work published and available for readers to buy and download around the world?
In collaboration with the National Literacy Trust, Amazon has created Young Storyteller, which gives North Durham Academy students the opportunity to be a published author.
This is currently a pilot initiative with a select number of schools who have been given a special invitation to participate and we are delighted that North Durham Academy is one of the chosen few!
The aim is to roll this out nationally, so this is our chance to get involved at the very start of something special.
The National Literacy Trust have suggested the theme of 'Memories', because writing about your own experiences can be very motivating. If you have an original idea of your own, so much the better!
In order to have your book ready for World Book Day, 1st March, students need to get writing now!
To ensure that submission to the publisher meets their deadline, can you please have your stories to Mrs Jackson (in writing or emailed) prior to 31st January 2017.
If you think you are the next J.K. Rowling or Terry Pratchett and have a burning ambition to see your story in print, please pop in to see Mrs. Jackson in Room 2.59.
This is an exciting opportunity not to be missed!
